College of Water Conservancy, former Water Conservancy Department of Shenyang Agricultural College, was established in 1995, now granting one Ph. D program in agricultural soil engineering, three master programs in agricultural water conservancy engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering and water and soil conservation and desertification control, four undergraduate programs in water conservancy engineering, Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Soil Conservation and Desertification Control and Civil engineering. So far the College of Water Conservancy has produced more than 5,000 graduates and maintained the graduate employment rate at 95% or above. At present, there are 64 full-time teachers, including 12 professors, 17 associate professors, 7 doctoral supervisors, 17 master supervisors.
     In 2001, the College completed the construction of comprehensive water conservancy experiment building, covering a total area of over 5,000 square meters, which is equipped with more than 10 laboratories including irrigation and drainage center, water conservancy center, engineering surveying center, civil engineering center, building material center, computer center and multimedia classrooms. The experimental equipments are of high completion and excellence. The College has established horizontal integration with Northeastern University, Dalian University of Technology, Shenyang Jianzhu University to bring forth lab community. With more than 20 contracted off-campus practical training bases, the College arranges for practical training for students to apply what they learn on class to practical work.  
     The College attached great importance to disciplinary construction and strengthening postgraduate education. Based on the original experiment status and conditions, the College increased another 17 hectares of experiment bases by building multifunctional experiment base mainly for irrigation and drainage, water and soil conservation and protected agriculture. In recent years, the College has undertaken more than 30 research projects of various levels, with research fund reaching up to more than 2 million Yuan. After the original school-run enterprises like SYAU survey team, agricultural engineering design institute, engineering survey center, the College of Water Conservancy successfully applied for certifications of soil and water conservation programming, geotechnical testing, land consolidation, Water resources argumentation for construction, waster resources survey and assessment and etc.
     College of Water conservancy has entered into a rapid development track, and all staff with the aim of “unite and exploit, altogether spectrum them”, devote themselves to teaching, scientific research and social service with greatly enthusiasm in order to get greater contribution to the education career and greater contribution to the water conservancy undertakings.
