SYAU’s College of Science, deriving from the former Department of Basic Courses of SYAU, now grants bachelor degree for Information and Computer Science. The College has teaching and research sections for mathematics, physics, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and analytical chemistry. With labs for information and computer science, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical colloid chemistry and physics available, the College have more than 70 computers and 418 sets of other experimental equipments.
      College of science has 65 full-time teaching staff, including 6 professors, and 20 associate professors. They undertake the teaching task of Information and Computer Science, as well as teaching basic courses of more than 30 postgraduate and undergraduate.
     College of Science takes disciplinary construction as the priority, improving teaching quality the core and building of a high-quality staff the crux. For years, faculty of the College have authored or co-authored more than 50 textbooks, and published over 100 academic papers on national and international journals. There are 10 academic papers have been collected by SCI and EI. Over 50 research findings have obtained awards of various levels, including one second price winner of Liaoning Provincial Teaching Excellent Achievement, two third price winners of national higher education multimedia courseware. Besides, the College also has undertaken more than 90 teaching and research projects supported by Liaoning provincial education authorities.
