College of Plant Protection was one of the main colleges founded at the initial period of Shenyang Agricultural University’s since 1952. After over 50 years’ arduous strive of generations, the college has developed into a college offering four master’s and doctoral programs (plant pathology, agricultural entomology and pest control, agricultural pharmacology, pest control and environmental security) and a post-doctoral station studies (plant protection). The plant pathology discipline is the key discipline of Ministry of Agriculture and Liaoning Province. The disciplines of agricultural entomology and pest control, agricultural pharmacology are provincial level qualified. The college comprises of provincial level qualified plant pathology laboratory and biological pesticide engineering center, provincial ministry of education approved plant disease laboratory, economic and applied entomology laboratory. Qualified by Ministry of Agriculture, the college is the accredited institute for efficacy test of pesticide registration and it’s also qualified as the authorized institute of evaluation of disease resistance of corn and vegetables by Liaoning province.    
      There are two undergraduate programs in College of Plant Protection, plant protection and applied chemistry. At present, there are 42 staff members, including 12 professors & researchers, 12 associate professors & researchers and 4 senior experimentalists. There are 9 doctoral supervisors and 23 master’s supervisors in the college now. So far, the scientific research work in plant disease and insect pest fields of corn, wheat, soybean, rice, vegetable and Chinese traditional medicine has won prominent developments and achievements. More than 500 academic papers and over 50 monographs have been published. International communication and collaboration are extensive and the college has held three international training workshops on plant protection theory and technique successfully.
