College of Information and Electrical Engineering offers 4 undergraduate courses: Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation and Agricultural Electrification and Automation. The college offers two Master courses in Agricultural Electrification and Automation and Computer Science and Technology, one PhD course in Agricultural Electrification and Automation and one Postdoctoral research station Agricultural Electrification and Automation. The school has computer teaching center, and 15 different kinds of laboratories. More than 500 sets of computers and 200 sets of other experimental facilities and equipments lays a solid hardware foundation for teaching and research in the College. Besides, the College also has set up the Liaoning Rural Electrification Research Institute and electrical equipment experimental plant supporting students internship, research, production and development.
Currently, there are 63 faculty members working for the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, among whom there are 8 professors, 15 associate professors and 15 with intermediate technical titles. Since the founding of SYAU, the College has cultivated more than 1,200 undergraduates, 127 postgraduates who have contributed their share of talents to the national development. In recent 10 years, the College have hosted and involved with over 50 research projects of various levels, accounting in more than 20 are of provincial levels or above. Over 20 project findings have been verified and approved and there are 5 project achievements of leading domestic level, 7 of domestic advanced level. In areas such as power supply model, rural electrical network reliability management, information management for power supply enterprises, biological environment control and information processing and geographic information system development and application, College of Information and Electrical Engineering have made a number of prominent and award-winning achievements in both national and provincial levels.
Since the first enrollment of the College in 1960, College of Information and Electrical Engineering have sent large number of graduates to companies, enterprises, or institutions of relevant fields. To date, the graduates of the College are still playing very important role in the process of modernization of China, as well as Liaoning Province.
