SYAU has always been engaged in strengthening its academic research capacities and expanding the research facilities. Of 79 research platforms established within SYAU, there is 1 national engineering laboratory,  2 laboratories and 1 research institutes of Ministry of Education and Liaoning Provincial Education Department, 32 laboratories and research bases of Ministry of Agriculture, 20 laboratories and research centers of Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology, 12 laboratories and research centers of Liaoning Provincial Education Department, 11 laboratories and research centers of Shenyang Science and Technology Bureau and 24 SYAU independent laboratories and research spots.
    With strengthened research capacities, well-equipped facilities and SYAU faculty’s passionate devotion, the research outputs of SYAU has been increasing steadily and diverse in genres. In recent 5 years, SYAU has been honored with 70 scientific research achievement acknowledgements, among which 5 research achievements are of international leading level, 55 research achievements are of international advanced level, received 121 awards for research findings and results, including 6 of national level, 73 of provincial level and 43 of municipal level, and been conferred 75 patents for invention, utility model and appearance design. Besides, SYAU has researched and development more than 20 agricultural new species during the recent 5 years.
