According to the newly-released statistics by Essentials Science Indicator (ESI), SYAU’s agricultural sciences has ranked ESI world top 1%. Though collecting and analyzing the data and records of academic papers of world universities and research institutions from the past 10 years, ESI listed the rank of all the institutions based on indicators such as the number of published papers, total citations, average citation and etc..
Incorporating data from January 1, 2007 to October 31st, 2017, this new statistical release by ESI shows that Shenyang Agricultural University has published 473 ESI included academic papers in the field of agricultural sciences in the past 10 years with a total citations of 2030 times and an average citation of 4.29 times. That makes SYAU stand at 763 out of the 785, the top 1% of all institutions around the world. The inclusion of SYAU’s agricultural sciences in ESI world top 1 % has given us a strong signal that SYAU’s development of subjects and disciplines, spearheaded by agricultural sciences has stepped into a phase featuring good and fast and a significant improvement has been made in its research capabilities and academic impact. As a result, a solid foundation has been established for SYAU in its pursuit of becoming a leading agricultural university with first-class disciplinary building.
ESI, an analytical and evaluation tool launched in 2001 by the American world famous academic information publishing house, Institute for Science Information (ISI) to measure the performance of scientific research and trace the trend of scientific development, constitutes a econometric analysis database incorporating over 10 million academic literature records from 11,000 academic publications included in the Thomas Reuters Citation Index Database, SCI and SSCI.
