From May 30th to June 2nd, the 7th Joint Academic Symposium between Shenyang Agricultural University and
Chungnam
National University was held at SYAU. Professor Wang Tieliang, vice president of SYAU attended the opening ceremony of the symposium and made the welcome speech. In the welcome speech, the vice president expressed his hope to further strengthen the exchange and communication with CNU and promote deepened cooperation and common development of both sides.
A CNU delegation of 23 members led by Professor Kim Se-bin, dean of College of Agricultural and Life Science participated in the symposium. At the symposium, 42 faculties and students of both SYAU and CNU made thought-provoking academic reports focusing on the theme of “Environmental Protection and Highly-Effective Utilization of Resources”. Among the 23 SYAU reporters, there were undergraduate students joining for the first time since the first event held in 2010.
After the symposium, Professor Wang Tieliang, vice president of Shenyang Agricultural University and staff of International Exchange Office, SYAU had an in-depth exchange and discussion with the head of the CNU delegation and CNU professors on seeking to expand the member schools of the joint symposium and developing cooperation programs such as student exchange programs of both undergraduate and postgraduate levels between SYAU and CNU.
Following the symposium, the CNU delegation visited SYAU College of Land and Environment, College of Plant Protection and College of Horticulture for academic exchange.
Nearly 200 faculties and students of SYAU College of Land and Environment, College of Plant Protection, College of Biotechnology, College of Horticulture and College of Agricultural Engineering attended the symposium.
