The spring comes with fervent popularity of “Yanli” Strawberry! At the Eleventh China’s Annual Strawberry Festival, held in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, “Yanli”, a strawberry species that was bred with independent intellectual property by a SYAU research team led by Professor Zhang Zhihong was awarded a golden prize as a second consecutive win. “Yanli”, a Chinese word which means bright-colored and beautiful was used to name the strawberry to have perfectly described the good look of the
species

Since last year, “Yanli” was well received in places including Shenyang, Liaoyang, Donggang, Zhuanghe, where the demand has been going beyond the supply. According to incomplete statistics, last year around 200,000 plants of “Yanli” was sold out from the research institutes and enterprises that have introduced the species. This year, the cultivated area for “Yanli” will expand by more than 10 times.
