th, the 5
th Joint Symposium between Shenyang Agricultural University, China and Chungnam National University, Korea was held in SYAU. Vice president of SYAU, Professor Wang Tieliang attended the opening ceremony and delivered the welcome speech. In vice president’s speech, he expressed the hope that the two universities could, with the academic exchange, realize common progress and improvement by promoting higher level exchange and cooperation. Director Sang-Nag Ahn of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chungnam National University, Korea headed the delegation for the joint symposium.
During the symposium, there, from both sides, were 43 teachers and students who gave well-prepared and thought-provoking research reports, focusing on “Modern Ecological Agriculture”, the theme of the symposium and this number has been the largest since the first year in 2009.
In order to deepen the effects of SYAU’s international exchange and reinforce the achievements in international cooperation, Office of International Exchange, SYAU, has specially arranged the Korean delegation for some visits to academic sectors including College of Land and Environment, College of Plant Protection and Institute for Rice Research. In each visit, the 21 members of the Korean delegation have had more direct and in-depth academic and cultural exchange with their SYAU counterparts.
The delegation has held very high opinion of SYAU’s teaching and research capacities and reached initial agreement with SYAU in conducting student exchange cultivation, short-term exchange visits for teachers and resource sharing.
The symposium was attended by over 200 people, including officers, teachers, students and other related personnel from Office of International Exchange, College of Land and Environment, College of Water Resources, College of Plant Protection.
