On December 20th, the Opening Ceremony of 2013 International Class of Agricultural Irrigation Engineering was held in the conference room of international student residence. Professor Zhang Yulong, president of SYAU, attended and addressed the event. President Zhang began his speech by expressing warm welcome to the newly-admitted international students and attached in his words hopes that the international students will overcome the cultural shock soon and become the ambassador facilitating communication between civilizations. Professor Zhang also encouraged students of the international class to make full use the resources and information available at the university, translating them into optimal academic achievements. Official of Jigawa state scholarship of Nigeria was among the guests.
   The 2013 international class of agricultural irrigation engineering, specializing courses in agriculture and irrigation engineering, was recruited and cultivated jointly by Office of International Exchange and College of Water Resources, SYAU.
   During the meeting, faculty representative professor Wang Lixue, student representative Ibrahim Hussian and Umar Dili Mohammed as freshman representative delivered a speech,respectively.
   Also present at the meeting were faculties from College of Water Resources and Office of International Exchange and international students representatives.
