On May 27th, the 2013 International Workshop on Aquatic Ecology and Restoration was held in Shenyang Agricultural University. The event, lasting for 3 days, welcomed 8 professors from University of Florida, University of South Florida, University of Utah, University of Central Michigan, St. Johns Water Management District, Florida and South Florida Water Management District, Florida. The American specialists made 8 academic reports in the area of aquatic ecology and restoration, in which they reviewed the on-going issues concerning the world water ecology and related reseach and restoration methodology and also introduced new technologies and means for aquatic ecology and restoration being applied in the U.S. Vice president of SYAU, Wang Tieliang met with the American delegation and was present at the workshop.
During the 3-day event, the American scientists paid a field visit to River Training Works of Liaohe River Middle Section, which SYAU is involved in its research and development process. The guests also had a pannel discussion with faculties and students from College of Water Resource, College of Land and Environment and College of Biological Technology and Science.
This international academic meeting was co-organized by units of SYAU including International Exchange Office, Office of Science and Technology, Office of Subject Construction, Graduate School and College of Water Resource.
