On May 10th, sponsored by Shenyang Municipal People’s Government and Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Water and Environment (otherwise known as BMLFUW), China-Austria Cooerpative Conference on “Agricultural Irrigation, Environmental Protection and Renewable Energy” was held in Shenyang Agricultural University. Present at the meeting were officials from Shenyang Foreign Affairs Office, BMLFUW of Austria, and experts from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, University of Technology, Vienna, River Basin Management Solutions, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and more than 20 related units in Shenyang including Shenyang Development and Reform Commission, Shenyang Academy of Environmental Sciences, Shenyang Environmental Protection Bureau, etc.

    During the meeting, experts and scholars from Austria and Shenyang made academic reports themed in agricultural irrigation, waste water treatment and water management, exciting the experts, scholars and the audience into heated Q&A and discussions. This conference has opened up, for units of water management and environmental protection in Shenyang and Austria, a door leading to technological cooperation. As the co-organizer of the conference, SYAU has also been bestowed with the precious opportunity for its faculty members and students to make academic exchange with Austrian counterparts.
    The conference was also attended by faculties and students from SYAU’s college of water conservancy and college of soil and environment.
